Accommodations: We have reserved a block of 25 rooms at the Travelodge Hotel Downtown Chicago, which is reasonably priced for the area and conveniently located with respect to IIT as well as Chicago Loop-area dining and attractions. Mention the "MICE CM 36 Group" when making your reservation in order to obtain the discounted rate of $129 per night (single or double occupancy, $10 per additional occupant up to 4) plus tax. Note: The block will be available up until one month prior to the meeting, so please make your travel plans early.
To reserve, contact: Darren J. Andrews, Group Coordinator, Travelodge Hotel Downtown Chicago
Phone: 312-376-1481, Fax: 312-435-0417, E-mail: dandrews@travelodgechicago.com
Transportation: The campus is easily reached by taxi, airport shuttle, bus, or elevated train from the airports and downtown Chicago.
From Travelodge:
Take the Red line south (toward Ashland/63rd - Roosevelt)) or Green line (toward Ashland/63rd or Cottage Grove) and get off at the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop.
Walk down to State Street at the north (toward downtown skyline) end of the platform and 2 blocks north to the Life Sciences Bldg on the left.
From the western suburbs:
Drive/carpool or take the Metra trains (BNSF or UP-West lines) to downtown Chicago and proceed to IIT either via CTA trains or buses or on the IIT Shuttlebus. If you wish to use the Shuttlebus, you will need a guest pass, for which you should contact us at least two weeks prior to the meeting. If you plan to drive, please allow sufficient time to take traffic into account; a good approach is to come early and eat breakfast at or near IIT.
If you intend to bring a car to campus, please indicate this in the registration form. Note that visitor parking is limited.

For the third day of the MICE meeting (taking place at Fermilab), we are arranging bus transport to Fermilab, picking up at the Travelodge Hotel at 8:00 am on June 19.
For those returning to the airport following the MICE meeting, transportation will be available from Fermilab.

For those staying on for the MAP meeting:
Rental cars will be desirable, as well as hotel accommodations near Fermilab. Cars may be rented on-site at Fermilab from Pilot's Leasing Car Rentals. Since June is a busy time for them, if you want to rent a car, please reserve one as soon as possible! As indicated on the rental car information sheet reservations may be made by phone, or by email to the Fermilab Users' Office. Please note that Pilot's Leasing does not accept credit cards.
The Fermilab Conference Office has a list of local hotels as well as other useful local information.
Meeting rooms and teleconference details: Monday and Tuesday: Room 111 of Life Sciences Building except for the RF parallel session which will take place in Room 131/133.
Wednesday: Room 1 West at Fermilab
Look here for ReadyTalk phone and videoconference details.
Computing: Wireless and wired network access will be available in the meeting rooms. A wireless network is accessible throughout the IIT campus and Fermilab site.
Banquet & Dining: A group dinner will be arranged on the evening of June 18 at Oliver's Cafe. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.
There are many good dining options for lunch and dinner at IIT and in the Chicago South Loop area. Chicago's famous Greektown and Chinatown areas are also not far from the Travelodge and from campus. We've also listed a few of our personal favorites.
